Ladies Who Hoop, Inc. (“LWH”) is a nonprofit organization that fosters community and empowerment through basketball, promoting equity and inclusion for women of all ages. LWH is a global network serving five generations, and bridging communities throughout the country and around the world, including New York, Los Angeles, South Florida, Chicago, Tokyo, Paris, Italy, Senegal and Lebanon.

Our Story

Ladies Who Hoop partners with a diverse group of organizations to provide free, year-round programming, services and special events curated to encourage physical fitness, social interaction, diversity, wellness and community engagement. Program offerings range from hosting the first competitive leagues founded and facilitated exclusively by and for women, to instructional basketball designed to introduce/reintroduce women to the game. LWH is also committed to the advancement of young leaders through youth enrichment and professional development programs.

Future LWH youth enrichment programs help strengthen participant confidence and character through educational, athletic and life skills development initiatives, and push the advancement of women coaches, who are crucial to the continued evolution of the game. Additionally, LWH professional development internships provide vital, hands-on career experience in the fields of sports management, youth development, entrepreneurship, marketing and social media.

LWH programs, services and events provide valuable opportunities for youth and adults to extend their impact beyond the basketball court and become meaningful contributors to the greater community.
